About Us

Melanie Findlay - Partner

Energy, Environment & Agribusiness Partner Melanie Findlay has a background in rural property law and a particular interest in water matters and vegetation issues. Melanie works to maintain the rights of rural land owners, farmers and graziers. Melanie has years of experience in helping landowners with mining and Coal Seam Gas negotiations, and compensation claims, including resumption, mining and Coal Seam Gas. She also has extensive experience in carbon projects, vegetation offsets and solar or alternate energy law projects.

Melanie has a passion for advocating for law changes in the rural sector and is a forward thinker who enjoys working with landowners on matters which can offer alternative income streams. To be able to properly assist agricultural people and give the best advice, Melanie believes it is important to really listen, to understand how you run your operations and to take the time to discuss your family business with you. Melanie understands it can be difficult for rural people to get into town and can often be found visiting her clients at their kitchen tables (especially if there is a scone involved!).
